What is WGF?

Women Green Fellowship (WGF) is a six month accelerator program held in collaboration with reputable development organization working in the country. The programs begin in June and ends in November, the fellowship is an open call to entrepreneurs, unemployed youth, innovators and creative thinkers with ideas for solving poverty problems to social business that can positively impact our nation and community.


Who should apply for WGF?

You are the one we need, if you:

Are an entrepreneur with at least one year experienced, and you have turned over or be part of at least one successful company, and you are ready to do in the social impact space. Are a thinker and not satisfied with seeing problems, and you are eager to build a company alongside seasoned entrepreneur.


Are an environmentalists, advocates, or change agent passionate about solutions. Have a background in or a passion for addressing climate change, food security or related issues around poverty. Have an innovative solution to our national problem — ideally, but not limited to, climate change—that leverages on new innovation and can positively impact thousands of people in our community. Are prepared to commit to launching a social business around your innovation and remaining attached to that initiative.


What are the eligibility requirements?

Applicants:

  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Must speak fluent English
  • Must be able to attend the entire Fellowship Program

What is the WGF review process?

The selection process has three phases. The first phase involves a review of all applications to a sizable number, the second phase involves interview with all applicants through skype call, zoom or any other medium available for the applicant, the third phase is the judging process.


What is the selection criteria for finalist?

  • Entrepreneurial and innovative potential.
  • Applicant's leadership experience, profile, potential, and achievements.

Who provides accommodation for WGF finalists?

Finalists are responsible for their own accommodation, while in Lagos.


Who pays for the travel expenses for finalists to come to Lagos?

Women Green Fellowship (WGF) finalists are responsible for their travel expenses to/from Lagos.

What happens if a finalist cannot attend the fellowship for any reason?

In all cases where a finalist cannot attend the fellowship, she forfeits her seat to the first runner-up.
